CHIEF Scholars

Need-based and merit scholarships for K–12, undergraduate, and graduate students. Funding paired with year-round academic coaching, mental health resources, and a peer network of fellow scholars.

Milestones

A track record built year over year — academic rigor, character formation, and community roots.

  • Free, public charter school serving K–8 scholars at 1460 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN.
  • Operated in partnership with the Martha O’Bryan Center.
  • Runs on the Leader in Me framework, building the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People into scholars from day one.
  • Named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Elementary and Best Middle Schools lists in multiple years.
  • One of only 6 open-enrollment K–8 schools out of 122 in Davidson County to earn an “A” on the inaugural 2023 state report card — and the only Nashville elementary charter to do so.
  • 2024–25: outperformed the district average in ELA, Math, and Science on TCAP.

CHIEF’s Community Impact program, alongside Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., shows up where this kind of achievement is already happening — reinforcing it with mentorship, resources, and hands-on support.
